The book is done and it was an amazing book i think. the question today is "why do we call that book as "The Catcher in th rye"? i think it's because of Houlden's caractery. Houlden doesn't know what he wants to do in his life. Houlden shows a personality that doesn't belong with him but he wants to be popular and poeple think that he's cool. But Houlden is not that bad, i mean yes he smoke and stoff but Houlden cares so much about poeple and especialy with childrens because when he's with his sister he cares a lot about what she thinks about him and he doesn't wants her to be scared for him or disapointed. A next moment is at school when he sees the F word on the whole and he gets mad because it's not good for childrens to say that because they don't know the signification of it. But the best moment is when he's watching the kids running and their parents don't pay attention of them. it's at this time that Houlden ears the poem "the catcher in the rye" and that he want to be one. I think Houlden is tired to always be in trouble and wants to be a good persone so it's for that that he want to do that because he could be a realy good persone and make poeple proud of him.

2 post " POEM "
What is marriage ? what is that mean ? why is it
so importante. When we are young it’s a wonderfool thing like being a princess
for caple hours and live happy and have a lot of childrens with the perfect
person that you will love forever. But is it that perfect ? is he going to
be my shine and fight my cloud ? is he going to be here for better and for
worse ? so i walk on this aisle asking me what am i just doing, and i look
at him in his eyes, seeing all my life with this smile. Life is just a moment
so i make it importante. If i said yes it’s because i knew, that this men and
me are the perfect two.
1 post " QUOTE"
"The best thing,in that museum was that everything always stayed right where it was. Nobody'd move. You could go there a hundred thousand times, and that Eskimo would still be just finished catching those two fish, the birds would still be on their way south, the deers would still be drinking out of that water hole, with their pretty antlers and their pretty, skinny legs, and that squaw with the naked bosom would still be weaving that same blanket. Nobody'd de different. The only thing that would be different would be you."
In the chapter 16, i think that we cans see a little changement of Houlden because he keep thinking of his meeting with the nuns and is sad because they never went anywhere. After that he watch this family going out of church. This family who he poor, Houlden feel bad for those children who wants to go see a movie. I feel it's like Houlden start to care of poeple problem and not just of him. I choose this quote because it says that nobody would be different and that the only thing that would be different would be you. I feel like Houlden is reconizing himself in this phrase. Like if he would be the only person to be different. I think he choose this quote because he would like that nobody could move or be different because of his depression and his problem it's like he feels that it would be easier to be like those statue in the museum.

Acceptance
of one's life has nothing to do with resignation; it does not
mean running away from the struggle. On the contrary it means accepting
it as it comes. . . . To accept is to say yes to life in its entirety.

This is the quote that i choose because it show that life is a challenge but it's easy to make it simple to live. You just have to accept it and be yourself.
I think this is what Houlden try to do but because of his reputation and how he lives, he doesn't arrive to make his own choise or being himself with poeple that he know they will judge him. But when he is with the nuns he doesn't lie or anything like if he knows that they're not as other poeples. I think he can be really great and have fun like not a normal personn but like someone who benefits of life's nice moment and be himself no hidding of personnamity, houlden has a lot of great moments with his family but the problem is when he's with his friends he becomes the cool guy who do bad stoff for make him impressive.

'Better is one's own duty imperfectly carried out than
following perfectly the law of another.
Better is death in the fulfillment of one's own law,
for to follow another's law is perilous.'
-The Bhagavad-Gita
This quote define perfectly Houlden. He is the whole opposite of it because he is like follow what poeple say like when he does sparklater's homework or when he try to mak out with women for lost his virginity for be cool and make his reputation and i think it's a little because he has already a reputation cause he smoke and be kick out from school and other stoff like that but also because he get beet up from stradlater and this guy is the kind of fuy who has every girls and i think houlden miss that and want that so he follow what poeple tell him like the guy at the hotel who propose him for the prostitude but he gots scared so gives up.
The second part of the quote would be what Houlden should follow, and i think i tries to because when he talks about Jane and when he meet the nuns he's complitly different and he talks from he's own words and own thots.

Second post -chapter 11-
This chapter is short but really interresting. In the last 3 chapter we said that Houlden is a kind of flyboys who likes judge poeple and think they'r higher then other poeple. But in this chapter he change complity of hatitude because he's talking to Jane. Remember older in the book he was talking about her and care on what could happen with stradlater. He kind of fight for her. In that chapter he's like a sweet heart who remember all those good moment with her and he say really different things about her then what he used to say with those girls at the bar. "She was a funny girl Jane. I wouldn't exacly describe her as stricly beautiful. She knocked me out, throught." This sentences shoc that even if poeple are not the perfection, they can be awesome from heart and personality. Houlden think just good stof about her even if she is not perfect, her personality is all what houlden could espect and he change complitly of opinion. It's like if it's not him. but maybe it's is real him...
First post chapter 8-9 and 10
In the chapter 8-9 and 10 we learn about Houlden's personality. In this chapter he is talking to a girl on te phont and meet three others girls in a bar and dance with them. Houlden is the kind of guys who show more then they should. Me i think it's a way to hide for poeple dont judge you on what you are. In the chapter 9 we can see it when he say "i made my voice quite deep so that she wouldn't suspect my age" (p.64) that means that he try to see her but doesn't want her to judge him before said yes. I think that it's easier to do it because he is on the phone so she doesn't know how is he and of cours his age.
In the chapter 10 i meet thos three girls at a bar. He make a lot of critiques about them and about how do they dance. he give them names for difference them. I think this is really rude cause he'll hiden himself on the phone but he doesn't care to judge and be mean with other poeple like if he is higher then poeple.

Chapter 4/5: "JANE"
Houlden has friends that he judge a lot and they ask him a lot of things that make me think he is kind of submitted of them like when Stradlater asks him to do his homework for can go out. "I got about hundred pages to read for history for Monday" "How 'bout writing a composition for me, for Enghlish? I'll be up the creek if i don't get the goddam thing in by Monday, the reason I ask. How 'bout it?" #p28. Things will change when i learned that the reason why Stradlater's asking is because he has a date. But not any date. Houlden knows this girl and it doesn't seems like he likes her as friend but more as love. He gets so excited about it when he talks about her, he ask a ton of questions about where she is? how is she? But he is too nervous for go talk to her face to face. It's funny to see how the lazy men can change in a minute when he learnd something. And i think that he could use that for all the time because he seems be annoy of what is happening with school and act like he doesn't care, like he cannot do anything to his life but when he learned about Jane his attitude change complitely like if he wants to be a better personne. He cares more and listen more.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE BOOK
Is Houlden is moving ?
Is he in boarding school?
Is Houlden's brother died?

Is Houlden's brother died?
Second post: How do i feel about Houlden
I will say i feel kind of bad for him but i lived that last year cause i was a real smoker and i know how it's hard telling you "i stop". So i kind of empathize with him but he seems be really influenced and i think that old spencer help him a lot about that what is a good thing because i think that in life you need help for go ahead. I think Houlden is a lazy guy but who didn't really find himself yet. I mean like he can't stop lying and can't do good as school enought but he is a really smart kid. I think it comes from the family cause his brother was a really good student and did good in his life so it's kind of hard for him who doesn't do good, be kick up a lot. He doesn't have a real relationship with his parents cause they don't care anymore on what he is doing and i think this is affect him in his own life, own dreams.
First post: Houlden and Old Spencer
Houlden is a teeanager like every teanager. he smoke and seems like do what cool people do. He has been kiqu from school a lot of times cause of his grades and i think that now he doesn't believe in himself enought and thinks he can't do right things. but houlden is a really smart boy cause helikes read a lot and his friends ask him to do there homework so i kind of ask me why doesn't he have good grades at school. I think this is because of some missing from his parents who dont seems be really attentives on what he is doing because of his journey at schools. Houlden is really near from his history teacher who try to help him with school but Houlden doesn't really listen even if he still likes this teacher. i think it's because any teacher like him because of his grades and his pass with smoking and stof so to be understand from one teacher, being invited at his own home it means a good relationship between them. I liked the first chapters because i like how the book describ houlden like how lazy he is and how he try to be like his teacher. the book is really hard to understand but we can figurate out his reactions and his fellings. Houlden shows kind of the teanagers in real life with is influence with smoking and his friends that he cheer a lot.
Old Spencer is Houlden's history teacher. this caractery is really nice cause he try to help his student to do and be better at school and in his own life. he cares a lot of houlden like a father that i think houlden appreciate cause he doesn't really have good relationship with his parents because of his travel. He listen him and talk normaly not like teacher/student but more as best friend. The problem with Houlden is that he lies a lot i think because he is scared of showing his fellings. The relationship between them is really nice too because Mr Spencer let him come at his own home and just that Houlden cares on spencer's health means that houlden understands that spencer helps him and is grateful and tanksful. Houlden seems be sad to leave him when he's telling him good bye but it's weird that i lied for leave the house while he just could say the truth, the old men wouldn't say anything.
